Peace, Love, and Respect = Success!

Discipline Sticks:

     We all make mistakes here and there.  We learn from our mistakes.  It's the mistakes that help us grow.  The tricky part is to NOT make the same mistakes over and over again.

     If we continue to make negative choices (four times in a row) on a certain day (bad mouthing, not getting along with others, disrespecting others, etc.), with your parent/guardian's permission, you and I will stay after school for a one-on-one conference we can see what is going on.  You will be able to call your parent/guardian to stay after school with me for a conference.  I will be by the phone as well to talk to him/her about the situation.  You will have the Discipline Packet for you to show to your parents/guardians and to have them sign it as well.  

 

Discipline Sticks

Each one of you will have your own Peace, Love, and Respect Paper Pocket to place the discipline sticks into if needed.

1^st stick:

I made a mistake. I am going to learn from it and move on. I am only human, and I know humans make mistakes and learn from them.

2^nd stick:

Hmmm…this is my second mistake for the day. I’m going to think about what my problem is for 10 minutes during my recess or free time. And, my teacher will help me out during this time.

3^rd stick:

Wow! I’m just not having a good day today. I’m going to take it easy during my whole recess and fill out a think sheet to figure out my problem. Then my teacher and I will go over my think sheet to see what we can do to help myself.

4^th stick:

Oh, my goodness! I’m not making good Hosea choices today. I’m going to stay after school for ½ hour to have a conference with Mrs. Brennan to see if she can help me with my problem. Then I will have a conference with my parent/guardian.

5^th stick:

I need to step out of the 6th grade Peace, Love and Respect Zone and go to the principal’s office to have a conference with Mrs. Minson. I will have the Hosea Discipline slip with me to give to her.

Remember that I am HERE for you always.  It is my job to help you to be the best person you want to be.   But, you will have to want to be the best person you want to be as well.
